Dr. Patrick Terry
Chief Data Officer/Chief Information Officer
Patrick Terry is the formal Chief Data Officer (CDO) of BOK Financial, one of the largest US bank holding companies. He led Enterprise Data & Analytics and oversees how the company gathers, manages, and optimizes data, ensuring its use as a critical business asset. Patrick currently provides CIO/CDO advisory and direction for strategic planning and direction for top US companies. Patrick brings over 25 years of financial services experience in data and analytics-related disciplines. Before BOKF, Patrick served in a CDO role as Head of Enterprise Data & Analytics for Heartland Financial (HTLF) and its member banks, responsible for the overall direction and execution of enterprise data and analytics. Patrick’s previous roles included leading Enterprise Data Services at First Horizon Bank and several leadership enterprise data & analytics roles at Wells Fargo Bank, including within the office of the CTO. He also spent ten years in management consulting, serving some of the top companies in the country.
Patrick sits on several executive advisory boards and professional organizations. In addition, he often participates in industry speaking engagements, webinars, and journals.
Patrick holds a Doctorate in Strategic Leadership from Liberty University, an MBA in Finance from Christian Brothers University, and a BBA in Management Information Systems from the University of Memphis.
Patrick has an active personal life. He is a proud father of 4, volunteers in his church, is an avid self-defense instructor holding black belts in krav maga and karate, and teaches vigilance and women’s safety seminars nationally. In addition, he is on a journey to earn his private pilot’s license. In 2020, Patrick retired as a volunteer reserve deputy sheriff Chief Inspector at the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office in Memphis, TN.
